Avery now 4 weeks old!!

Everything has been going well with Avery since he's been home. I have no complaints. He seems to be a pretty good baby. We are starting to learn his cries - hungry, tired, need burped, etc. There always seems to be a reason for his cries - and he doesn't cry much at all!

He's starting to hold his head up better and better every day. He outgrew his newborn clothes at 2.5 weeks. Definitely a growing little boy.

Dylan has taking greatly to being a dad. He seems to love Dad-Avery time. Unfortunately, he doesn't get as much of that as he would like since he's back at work.

Avery was born Oct 8th at 1:44AM. He was 8lbs 15oz and 20.75 in long. He was a stubborn "little" baby and didn't quite want to come out. After having contractions since 3am about 10 mins apart (not bad ones at all), then going into full blown labor around 5:30PM (went from 4cm to 8cm between 5PM and 7PM), and pushing for an hour and half, the doctor said that it could still be awhile or he could use the vacuum/suction thing. I was all for that! 3 contractions later and Avery was here!

We had a great experience at the hospital. All the nurses were super helpful and kind. I would definitely recommend giving birth at Good Samaritan. Avery was born in the early hours of Thursday morning. We got to the "mom/baby room" around 4am after they weighed him, bathed him, tried getting breastfeeding started, etc. We stayed at the hospital until mid morning on Friday.
